Due to some editing delays (wholly my fault!), the release of my next book, The Little Black Box, will be in September.
My publisher, Under The Moon Press, provides cover art and even some interior artwork to go along with the book. I've seen the cover, and it looks great! Now I can't wait to see what they whip up for the other art pieces.
If you liked The Ninth Curse, this book is another in the same genre...and I think you'll have fun going along for the ride. As soon as I get my 'official' cover art, I will post it to my website and the blog.

Working on my galleys & editing a new book!
Just a few days ago, I got an email from my publisher with my galleys for the print version of my book!!!!!!
**Galleys: the pre-publication version of your book**
I have to go through all the pages and look for any mistakes and mark them on a special sheet. This is to be done by August 10th. Then, I am on track to have a PRINT version of my book in February 2010!!!!!!!!!!!! Six months from now. Yay!
So far, I've looked over 75 pages of about 240. I did find a handful of minor errors, so it is definitely worth my time to look it over...AGAIN. Surprisingly, although I know the story very well, I'm enjoying this read-through. Hopefully, everyone who has bought the electronic version has enjoyed it, too.
Additionally, I just got my edits for my upcoming book, "The Little Black Box." The electronic version is supposed to come out in August, but it depends on how quickly I can get these edits done. This new book needed a little too much editing for Samhain, so I decided to contract it with a smaller publisher. I'd rather have my book out there for handful of readers, rather than just let it gather dust 'under my bed,' so to speak.
Terri, the editor & co-owner of the publisher, Under the Moon Press, has been fabulous about working with me on this project. It's a unique/exciting story, and I'm glad she is willing to work with me on it to make it publishable.
Keep an eye out for an excerpt in the next month or so.

Contest - You Can Win & You Can Help Me!
There is a Yahoo chat group for Samhain readers. I'll post the link below. They are running a contest, and I'm hoping at least ONE of my readers might take part in it. Here are the rules/instructions:
Here's the link to join the Yahoo group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/samhaincafe/
Reader Comments' Contest!
We would love to hear our reader's thoughts on Samhain's books. This is
your chance to tell us what you liked about a book, and earn a chance to
win an ebook for doing so.
Choose any Samhain Publishing book you have read and enjoyed and tell us
why. Your entry must be at least 25 words long, not just: "I read
Sandie's Heartbreak Motel and loved it." LOL This does not have to be a
long or fancy review.
We want your thoughts on why you liked a book. You may submit as many
reviews as you like, there is no limit to how many times you may enter
during a week. Simply tell us about the books you have read and enjoyed.
The contest will run for 8 weeks. The winner for each week will be able
to select any ebook from Samhain's back list.
Here are the 3 simple rules. To participate, simply post your message on
the Cafe containing the following info:
1. The subject line must contain the words "Reader Comments" along with
the book title and author name.
2. The comments must be at least twenty-five words in length.
3. This must be original thoughts only, please; no copying allowed.
The contest starts today, June 30th and will run from Tuesday through
Sunday each week for eight weeks, with the winner announced on Monday
morning.
We're looking forward to hearing from you with lots of entries, so put
on your thinking caps and win that prize!
Best of luck to everyone.

Release Date Countdown!
As you can see in my sidebar, I added a countdown clock last week. Hard to believe, but the release date for my very first book is only ONE WEEK AWAY!
Funny how something like that sneaks up on you. I think perhaps it's because I've been working on my newest book, so I just don't pay attention. (*more about the new book in a bit)
I don't have a whole lot of promotion planned. But I did participate in a scavenger hunt yesterday with a few other authors from Samhain. Hopefully, that was fun for the people involved. Some lucky winner will get a copy of my book!
So, maybe you are wondering what this next book is going to be about. As you can see on my website, I have another paranormal suspense book coming out this summer. This third book will be suspense, but with more of a sci-fi twist.
I'm drawing on my six years in the Navy to create an interesting set of characters and to build a realistic world to set my story in. This will be a series of at least three books. If it goes beyond that, I don't know. But I have already sketched out the basic theme for each book.
A full-length book takes me awhile to write. But I'm hoping to get a lot done this summer. Warmer weather usually means more writing for some reason.
Thanks for stopping by and keep an eye on the countdown clock! April 28th is fast approaching.
